Return match after 48 days, this time Connor had the last laugh

Connor Seabold (Samsung) laughs with Kim Kwang-hyun (SSG) during their return match.

On March 29, Samsung and SSG played a baseball game in Daegu, South Korea. SSG"s Kim Kwang-hyun earned the win with six innings of two-hit ball, four walks, seven strikeouts and one run. The second pitcher, Noh Kyung-eun, stumbled with three runs in the first inning, but Cho Byung-hyun and Moon Seung-won pitched one inning each to preserve the 6-4 victory.

Conner, on the other hand, suffered his first loss of the season, allowing five runs on nine hits (three homers) in five innings with two walks and one strikeout, including home runs to Choi Ji-hoon, Han Yoo-seom, and Ha Jae-hoon.

They met again 48 days later. Connor picked up his third win of the season, earning his first career quality start, allowing three runs (two earned) on four hits (one homer) with two walks and eight strikeouts in seven innings at SSG Landers Field in Incheon, South Korea.

The bats were on point. Trailing 2-3 in the eighth inning, the big inning gave Connor the win. David McKinnon led off with a single to left off pinch-hitter Byung-heon Cho. Kim Young-woong and Lee Jae-hyun followed with back-to-back strikeouts, but Ryu Ji-hyuk hit a double to left-center to tie the game at 3-3.

In the ensuing two-out rally, Lee Sung-gyu struck again against Cho Byung-hyun. On a 0B-2S pitch count, he took a three-seam fastball (146km) into the left-field two-run arch. After totosafeguide.com getting hit by a pitch from Lee Sung-gyu, Cho Byung-heon was replaced by Choi Min-joon. Kim Hun-gon followed with a solo home run to left off the new pitcher, Choi Min-joon. With 1B-1S, he pulled a three-pitch curveball over the wall for his fourth arching shot of the season. 6-3.

With the score 6-3, Connor was replaced by right-hander Jae-Yoon Kim in the eighth inning. With the bases loaded, the Samsung bench called on "closer" Oh Seung-hwan to shut down the opposing offense. Samsung added six runs in the ninth inning to seal the deal.

SSG starter Kim Kwang-hyun went 5? innings, allowing two runs on six hits (one home run) with four walks and three strikeouts to earn his fourth win of the season. However, he had to swallow the disappointment of the bullpen. SSG had the bases loaded in the eighth inning but could not capitalize. Ha Jae-hoon hit a solo shot in the ninth inning, but it didn"t matter.

"Connor pitched his best game of the season, effectively shutting down the opposing bats until the seventh inning, laying the foundation for a promising eighth inning," said Park Jin-man. "In the batting lineup, Kim Young-woong, Ryu Ji-hyuk, Lee Sung-kyu, and Kim Heon-gon came to the plate with focus and made some big hits that changed the game in an instant," he added.

"We will go down to Daegu in a good mood tonight and show our home fans our best game in the three-game weekend series," promised Park Jin-man.

\0-4\ Tottenham boss says \we\ll learn from our mistakes

English Premier League (EPL) Tottenham Hotspur head coach Enze Postecoglou said after the loss that "we paid the price for not controlling the game". "We"ll take time to work on it," he said.

Tottenham suffered a crushing 0-4 defeat against Newcastle at St. James" Park in Newcastle, England, on Sept. 13 (ET).

Spurs were in fourth place in the table, having played one game less than Aston Villa (60 points, +17-65 goal differential). However, the four-goal defeat dropped them to 18-6-9 (W-60-D-16-64), leaving them with the same number of points and a four-goal goal differential, dropping them down the table despite playing more games.

The result puts Spurs in a difficult position in the race for fourth place, which qualifies them for the UEFA Champions League (UCL).

Spurs were unable to find a solution to Newcastle"s well-organized pressing on the day and crumbled after conceding back-to-back goals in the 30th, 32nd, and two-minute spans of the first half.

"Newcastle played really well today," said Postecoglou. We didn"t reach the level where totosafeguide.com we could control the game and we paid the price for it," he reflected.

There was also a moment when central defender Micky Vander Penn was late in covering the space behind the goal, but Postecoglou was quick to defend his player"s error.

"That"s the life of an elite player," he said. I"m sure Vander Penn will make more mistakes in the future," he said, "but it depends on how he overcomes them. In that sense, we played a very teachable game today," he added, expressing hope.

Spurs, meanwhile, will now have to overcome the preparedness of their remaining opponents in the wake of the defeat. Including against Newcastle, Spurs have been lethargic against teams that have analyzed their style of play well recently.

"It"s difficult to come up with a countermeasure right away," said Postecoglou. We will have enough time to analyze," he said.

Alonso isn\t the only reason Leverkusen are unbeaten - what is i

It"s a staggering record.

"Bayer 04 Leverkusen has scored a whopping 24 goals after 35 minutes in the second half of the season," said BR Football, a British media outlet.

That"s an incredible record. Leverkusen, the hottest team in Europe this season, is making history. They haven"t lost a single game in their last 42 official matches. With an incredible record of 37 wins and five draws, they are on track to win the German Bundesliga title.

Currently 16 points ahead of second-place Bayern Munich, Leverkusen will host Werder Bremen on May 15th. If they win that match, they will win the Bundesliga title for the first time in their history, regardless of the rest of their schedule.

At the center of their incredible unbeaten run is head coach Xabi Alonso. Alonso took the reins at Leverkusen midway through last season and was a so-called "novice" coach. He had only totopick.pro coached Real Sociedad"s youth and B teams prior to his arrival at Leverkusen. However, his incredible tactical skills have turned Leverkusen into a top team.

What"s more, Leverkusen have a never-say-die mentality this season. They"ve scored 24 goals in the last 35 minutes of the game alone.

This was also on display in their last game, against West Ham United, which took place on December 12th. Leverkusen faced the Hammers in the first leg of the UEL quarterfinals of the 2023-24 UEFA Europa League (UEL) and fired a whopping 33 shots on goal, but the Hammers" stout defense and goalkeeper ?ukasz Fabianski"s saves kept them from finding the back of the net.

However, Jonas Hoffmann"s 38th-minute opener and Victor Boniface"s second goal in stoppage time gave the Hammers a 2-0 victory. Both goals came after the 35th minute. This record eventually transformed Leverkusen into a powerhouse.

Korean Air confidence boosted by Woori Card victory

"We showed that we can still play strong volleyball."

Korean Air Men"s Volleyball, looking to snap a four-game losing streak, broke out of its slump. Seizing the lead, Korean Air kept the spark alive to regain the lead.

Korean Air swept Woori Card 3-0 (25-22 25-14 25-16) in straight sets in the men"s Dodram 2023-2024 V League at Gyeyang Gymnasium in Incheon on Friday. While the win was unchanged, third-place Korean Air (38 points) closed the gap on leader Woori Card (42 points). It was the third consecutive victory for Woori Card in the season.

A win and a loss on the day made the difference between the two teams. Korean Air gained confidence. "We showed that we can still play strong volleyball," said Korean Air head coach Tommi Tilikainen.

For the first time this season, Jeong Jung-seok was named to the starting lineup. It was a last-minute decision for the team, but it paid off in the end.

Lim Dong-hyuk, who was the top scorer for both teams with 28 points, said, "We wanted to win before the match," adding, "If we play with this mindset, I think we can reach a ranking worthy of Korean Air."

Woori Card was demoralized. Woori Card coach Shin Young-cheol said after the game, "It"s the coach"s responsibility for not managing the players," but also said, "The players don"t work well together for some reason. I know how good our players are, but the atmosphere is different because we are in first place."

He added, "The manager"s management is important, but the most important thing is for the players to manage themselves. There are injuries, some players have colds, and it"s weird. I think we need to get the team back on track quickly."

Woori Card"s next game will be against OK Financial Group at Jangchung Gymnasium in Seoul on the 10th. "Our players are not as good individually as Korean Air," said Shin Young-cheol, "but I"m worried about how we"re going to get through this."

Darts-loving Maddison, Tottenham man

James Maddison has revealed his love for Tottenham Hotspur.

"Maddison watched Luke Littler play in the World Darts Championship final at Alexandra Palace," global soccer outlet Goal.com reported on Thursday.

Maddison is widely known for his love of darts. During his time at Leicester City, he showed off his darting skills after scoring a goal, and he kept it up after moving to Tottenham. It"s become his signature.

A funny thing happened at the World Darts Championship final: Arsenal fans were in attendance. When the Arsenal fans saw Madison, they started a chant mocking Tottenham. Madison responded by writing "North London is WHITE" on a sign he was carrying.

Tottenham and Arsenal have one of the most famous rivalries in England. Both teams have ties to North London, and the rivalry is long-standing. Arsenal was previously based in Wilwich, South London, but the move to North London brought them closer to Tottenham.

Crucially, in 1919, the league announced plans to expand from 20 teams to 22. The 19th-place team in the First Division remained, while the first and second-place teams in the Second Division were promoted to the First Division. For the one remaining spot, only Tottenham, bottom of the first division, and one of the five second division teams could join the first division. The vote was won by fifth-place Arsenal. This resulted in Tottenham being relegated and Arsenal playing in the top flight.

Maddison donned a Tottenham jersey this summer, but it seems he immediately took the "North London is WHITE" perception to heart. Tottenham lost Harry Kane this summer and it looked like they would be bleeding heavily, but Maddison has stepped up and filled the void in the attack. He handled the opposition"s pressure with ease and threatened them with his sharp shooting and passing.

Against Arsenal in Round 6, Madison was flying. He assisted on both of Son Heung-min"s goals in the 2-2 draw. However, Madison is currently sidelined by injury. He suffered an ankle injury against Chelsea in the 11th round. Spurs have struggled without him, losing some of the sharpness in their attack. Tottenham turned to the likes of Dejan Kuluczewski and Giovanni Lo Celso to fill the void.

Fortunately, Maddison"s return is near. "I"m not sure," Paul O"Keefe, who is well versed in Tottenham news, said when asked if Maddison could return to Manchester United. It"s more realistic for him to come back against Brentford."
